Optimization of Rhizopus Sp. Growth Media for Biofoam Manufacture: Effect of Temperature and Substrate Composition

نویسندگان

چکیده

Biofoam is a biodegradable material that can substitute the use of styrofoam. be produced from Rhizopus sp. mycelia. In development biofoam fungal mycelia, mycelia act as reinforcement or binder for substrate (media) because grow and spread throughout substrate. Therefore, optimization growth medium by varying composition incubation temperature had been done in this research. The consisted sugarcane trash (particle size 20, 40, 60 mesh), starch (soybean, sago, rice), CaCO3, distilled water. inoculum mixed with was incubated at certain temperatures (29 35°C) 7 days. FESEM-EDS analysis starches showed soybean has more nutrients than rice sago starch. optimum TK 1, which consists 20 mesh trash, flour, water an 29°C. That grew well evenly distributed 1 average length ± 1.3 cm. distribution media also seen morphology using Kayence digital microscope. The suitable optimize

optimization of media and temperature for enhanced antimicrobial production by bacteria associated with rhabditis sp.

background and objectives: entomopathogenic nematodes, belonging to the family heterorhabditis and steinernematidae, are reported to be symbiotically associated with specific bacteria and the secondary metabolites produced by these bacteria possess antimicrobial activity. in this study, bacteria were isolated from nematodes belonging to the family rhabditidae, and the antimicrobial activity was...
